Using Big History School
Big History School refers to the website platform and resource provided by Macquarie University. Macquarie University has pioneered Big History and is the global leader in Big History research, teaching, and outreach. Macquarie University Big History Institute designed and built the Big History School website platform and resource.
Course means an online Big History course provided on the Big History School website.
Course Materials includes but is not limited to all text, graphics, images, pictures, drawings, video and audio recordings provided online as part of a Big History School course.
If you register for an account on Big History School you must provide current, complete, and accurate information. Your username and password may only be used by you. You are responsible for keeping your user name and password confidential and you may not authorise any third party to use them. You agree that we may attribute all use of your user name to you and that you are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at: firstname.lastname@example.org if the security of your user name or password has been compromised.

5. Permitted Use and Distribution
You may not copy, reproduce, modify or adapt any or all of the Course Materials and other material available on Big History School. School teachers registered with Big History School are specifically permitted however to download and print course materials for use within a class only when (i) that class is set up on Big History School, and (ii) the students within that class are also registered with Big History School. You may not any under circumstances post or distribute any Big History School Course Materials on any online platform, website, intranet, or learning management system without express written permission from Macquarie University. You may not use any Big History School Course Materials for any commercial purpose or in any manner that disparages or discredits any person. Permission to copy or distribute any materials that appear on the Site that are owned or copyrighted by others must be obtained from the third party that owns such content.
6. Links, Frames, and Metatags
You may link to the home page of the Big History School website as long as you do not do so in a false or misleading manner. You may not frame the content of the Big History School website. You may not use metatags or any other "hidden text" that incorporates Big History School website contents without express written consent from Macquarie University.
7. Big History School Website Availability
You may access the Big History School website if and when it is available. We do not guarantee availability of the Big History School website or of Course Materials. The Big History School website may occasionally be down for service, upgrades, or for other reasons. To the maximum extent authorized under applicable law, we reserve the right to change, remove, delete, restrict, block access to, or stop providing any or all of the Big History School website at any time and without notice.
8. Big History School Website Support
We have no obligation to provide support in relation to the Big History School website, Course Materials, or your account.
We reserve the right to terminate the Courses, Course Materials, or access to the Big History School website at any time, without notice, for any reason, including for your violation of any of the provisions of these Terms. All provisions which by their nature are intended to survive termination shall so survive, including without limitation, Sections 10 and 11.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We do not claim, represent or warrant that a Course or Course Materials are suitable for your purposes or are error free. All content provided on or through the Big History School website, including all Courses, Course Materials, and other information, is provided "as is" and on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all representations and warranties (whether express or implied by law), including the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security and accuracy. We do not guarantee the timeliness, completeness or performance of any aspect of the Courses, Course Materials or of website content. While we endeavour to ensure that all content provided by the Big History School website is correct at the time of publication no responsibility is accepted by or on behalf of Macquarie University for any errors, omissions or inaccurate content on the Course and Course Materials.
We do not warrant that Courses will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Courses or website are free of viruses or bugs. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to implement sufficient procedures and virus checks (including anti-virus and other security checks) to satisfy your particular requirements for the accuracy of data input and output.
We disclose that the Course Materials include a number of videos and other animated graphics, some of which may contain flickering images, patterns or flashing lights and that if you suffer from a condition like epilepsy, you should take precautions to satisfy yourself prior to purchasing the Course that viewing those videos and other materials contained within the online Course will not trigger your condition. You should contact your medical advisors to discuss any concerns prior to accessing the Course Materials.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales and you and Macquarie University each agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. If any of these terms and conditions are determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the laws of any state or country in which these terms and conditions are intended to be effective, then to the extent and within the jurisdiction in which that term is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining terms and conditions shall survive and continue to be binding and enforceable. You may not transfer any of your rights under these terms and conditions to any other person. Macquarie University may transfer our rights under these terms and conditions to another organisation.
